SIX STREETS DERBY

A VIBRANT, INNOVATIVE AND NURTURING COMMUNITY GROUP THAT ENHANCES THE LIVES OF LOCAL RESIDENTS

SOCIALISING

Six Streets' aim is to enhance lives and one way of doing that is to encourage people to meet each other. You can do that through activities such as Meals Service where you are helped by/ give help to neighbours or you could volunteer to help with Six Streets events and activities Another way to meet people is through social activities.

The newest social activities are the Six Streets At Homes and  Craft Group - more longstanding ones are the Book Groups and Walking Together

The At  Homes happen once a month on the First Friday, please check calendar for venue. Wherever they happen, the set up is the same and very simple. The volunteer host is not expected to provide anything other than the venue. Anyone who wishes to drop by, whether it is for 20 minutes or for the full session, brings along everything they need - so your favourite nibbles and drinks are guaranteed to be there and you even drink from your own glass/cup. This DIY  approach means you don't have to RSVP. Everyone is invited - on the understanding that you may not get a seat. If you wish to check accessibility of a venue or whether you need to bring stuff to keep your child entertained, please email in

The Craft Group happens twice a month on the first and third Mondays, please check calendar. The set up is again a simple one - bring along what you have in terms of , expertise and experience (zero is fine) along with any current projects or ideas and take it from there. So maybe you can crochet but would like to learn to knit, you could be supporting a novice crocheter while getting tips from experienced knitters.
