Six Streets Facebook has received some requests for donations
Jenny who organises the monthly Red Cross Foodbank collection points out that the summer holidays can be very difficult for children who normally receive free school meals.
Demands on food banks increase during the school holidays when some children cannot rely on a school dinner. A recent report from the Trussell Trust reported that ‘The long school holidays financially stretch families who are struggling to get by. Without free school meals, and with extra childcare costs, families who are just about staying afloat can barely keep from going under.’
If anyone can make a one off contribution this month – however small – please do let us know. Thank you
Then there are 2 appeals to help babies - if you have a Moses basket in good condition that you no longer need, then please think of donating it to help vulnerable new Mums in Nottingham & Birmingham. The second is to donate from a list of goods to make up baby boxes to be sent to Syria. Collection of these items by Kate can be arranged if you get in touch.
