On his way home from work at 04:45 this morning, my son, Arran, noticed the boots and passenger doors open on 3 cars on Wheeldon Avenue. He phoned the police, gave registration details and a description of the scene (boots open, contents disturbed, some items on the road, glove compartments open, contents in footwell, etc).
On police instruction, we closed car doors and boots. We left a note on the cars as it's highly likely the owner will get to the car before the police do!
Arran had a quick check along Park Grove and down Statham and Bromley Streets which seemed clear.
If when you get into your car, you find it unlocked, check the car over. If you feel your car has been tampered with, call the police on 101. When this happened to us last year, it took us a while to realise!
