Easter First!

Posted by diana b on April 16, 2017 at 10:25 AM Comments comments (0)

As the shops have been known to run out of Easter eggs, we buy in advance guessing at numbers ... and this year we over-bought!  So after this morning's Easter Event, the excess eggs were donated to the Children's Hospital.

I was very surprised at how quickly this message arrived in the Six Streets email inbox:

On behalf of all the staff and children at the Derbyshire Children Hospital I would like to say a huge THANK YOU for your very kind donation.

Cars broken into. Sunday 16 April 04:45

Posted by Michele on April 16, 2017 at 12:45 AM Comments comments (2)

On his way home from work at 04:45 this morning, my son, Arran, noticed the boots and passenger doors open on 3 cars on Wheeldon Avenue. I've been told by a dog walker using Sturgess Field that a man was hit with a ballbearing there this evening (Wed). He is OK but a second ball bearing then hit the railings near the Jonty Farmer exit. The police have been informed.

There is going to be another Arts Trail - quite something seeing there is only a very small number of people organising it. To make it feasible, there is not going to be an entry charge for visitors. This means that there is no need for a trail guide. Given our very compact area, everyone will be able to wander around, spot the balloons/bunting marking venues and discover what is waiting inside.

Hosting a venue is fun - and pretty easy. It involves clearing a room (or two if you wa...
